Call to Makers/Artists: Create Downtown Kentville’s Holiday Elves!

Downtown Kentville is looking for a local artist to help us spread some extra holiday cheer!
We’re commissioning one artist to design and create three “Elf on the Shelf”-style characters that will be featured in downtown businesses throughout the holiday season as part of our Holly Days celebrations.
These elves should reflect the playful, spirited, and welcoming personality of Downtown Kentville — the heart of Kentville.
Project Details

One artist will be selected to create three unique elves.

Each elf should be flexible or poseable, allowing it to be displayed in a variety of playful positions (like the classic Elf on the Shelf). Suitable for indoor display, and no taller than 12 inches tall, fully standing.

Designs can be whimsical, traditional, or completely original — we’re looking for creativity and charm!

Delivery deadline: Completed elves must be delivered to Downtown Kentville by end of day November 13, 2025.

Please submit your proposal by October 29, 2025 to comms@downtownkentville.ca with:

Your name, contact information, and social links (if applicable).

A brief description or sketch of your proposed elf designs.

Your artist fee for the full project (all 3 elves).

Estimated materials and timeline for completion.
Selection Process

The winning proposal will be announced on October 30, 2025.

Selection will be based on creativity, feasibility, and alignment with the Downtown Kentville brand.
